Design Guidelines

Our services are designed to be simple and fast.

Understanding some basic rules about our services can help you streamline the processing of your order and the cutting process.

Capabilities of our laser cutter

For laser cutting, we accept vector files. Please refer to our cutting file guidelines for more information.

Laser Capabilities

Our fiber laser can cut carbon steel plate, stainless steel plate, copper plate, brass, and Aluminum. The maximum thickness for carbon steel is 16mm for Stainless steel, 12mm, for aluminum 10mm, 6mm for brass, and 1mm for copper. For more information on available thicknesses of material refer to our material selection page.

Sheet Sizes

Minimum hole & interior cut sizes

The following table gives the recommended minimum hole size for our laser cutter. The sizes given are those for a round hole using the thickness of the material. You can also convert these sizes from a round hole into another shape, such as a triangle or square, by comparing the area. The general rule of thumb is that the hole diameter should not me less than ½ the material thickness. This does not apply to all materials, and we recommend that you refer to the table below.
